A contemporary story of seeking fortune in the West Texas oil rig world.. See writer/director Taylor Sheridan’s most popular movies and TV series on IMDb, ranked by user rating.. Landman, at least one who works in the oil industry, will act as an intermediary between exploration companies and landowners. Typically, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. They essentially manage the land and secure the leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, workers’ quarters (human camp), oversee the assembly of excavators and the drilling of the well site itself, especially in remote locations. They are also part of the fixer, the problem solver and the facilitator.. Featured on CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #44.24 (2022). This could have easily been rated 8.5 – 9. If it wasn’t for the horrible and so sexualized daughter & ex-wife/mother. They serve no plot purpose and are just annoying and offensive to the women of west Texas. A far west Texas guy myself, I understand where Sheridan is coming from in a way, but this is terrible. West Texas women are the strongest and most ambitious women I know. That aside, the writing and acting are great. Sheridan easily has another Yellowstone on his hands if he gets rid of the very uncomfortable domestic turmoil. But then again, I like some Sheridan in the writing (and acting) and absolutely a very enjoyable show, for the most part.
